Water

Proper management of this vital liquid takes place in every part of our operation. We have a comprehensive strategy for taking care of water and efficiently using the resources available.

Ltd. uses in its projects comes from surface
water sources.

During dry periods, the Paujil dam – built
by Drummond Ltd. – provides a continuous
supply of water to the San Antonio Creek,
maintaining its environmental flow and
guaranteeing continuity for the productive
activities of the communities downriver
from the project.

13 at the Pribbenow mine.

17 at the El Descanso mine

3 at the Port.

Air quality

Drummond has implemented specific controls for each activity in the open pit coal mining process that can contribute particulate matter and greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.

Protecting Biodiversity

The company has a strategy to make sure all the necessary efforts are made to protect, conserve, and restore the biodiversity of the ecosystems at the mines and the port.

Despite the fact that all the species that have been reported at the wildlife stations are categorized as being of “least concern” on the lists of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), for Drummond, their preservation is a priority.
